HOUSTON -- Duke Energy Power Services (DEPS) has named David L. Rehn president and chief executive officer. DEPS is the Duke Energy Corporation subsidiary that develops, owns and operates electric generation projects across the United States and Canada.

"Dave’s two-plus decades of commercial and power plant experience make him uniquely qualified to lead the DEPS organization," said John F. "Dave brings to DEPS extensive leadership experience in all aspects of power generation as well as a winning track record in the competitive marketplace of engineering services." Rehn reports to Norris and will be based in Houston.

Rehn first joined Duke Power’s design engineering department in 1975. As an engineering project manager in the mid-1980s, he was instrumental in the development of the Bad Creek Hydroelectric Station. He progressed through a series of positions of increasing responsibility including vice president of Catawba Nuclear Station and general manager of Duke Power’s nuclear services group. Most recently, Rehn was executive vice president of Duke Engineering & Services’ nuclear group.

A native of Baltimore, Md., Rehn earned bachelor of science and master of science degrees in engineering mechanics from North Carolina State University. He is a registered professional engineer in North Carolina and South Carolina.
