DUKE ENERGY LOCAL SPONSOR OF PBS DOCUMENTARY ON FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT

Houston -- Duke Energy will be a local corporate sponsor of Ken Burns’ documentary, Frank Lloyd Wright, to be shown on PBS Nov. 10-11. Locally, it will be seen from 8 - 9:30 p.m. on Channel 8.

The two-night program interweaves Wright’s extraordinary career — during which he designed more than 800 buildings, including the Guggenheim Museum in New York —with his equally tempestuous life. A complicated and arrogant man, Wright was larger than life and never saw any limits for himself Wright’s only public Texas design is the Dallas Theater Center.

"Duke Energy is excited about sponsoring Frank Lloyd Wright because he was such an extraordinary man who has left a great legacy of architecture across the country," said Fred Fowler, president of energy transmission. "Duke Energy believes in the importance of supporting both education and public television, so we are proud to be associated with PBS on this production."
