HOUSTON - Henry (Hank) D. Jones has been named president of Duke Energy Resource Management Company, effective April 6.

Jones, 38, will be responsible for negotiating and implementing corporate energy risk management activities for Duke Energy, and unregulated coal and emissions trading business development. He will report to Jim Hackett, president of Duke Energy Services.

"Hank Jones has a strong background in risk management and energy trading, and he will play a pivotal role in the company’s future growth," Hackett said.

Jones was previously vice president of risk management and energy trading at NGC Corporation. He joined NGC in 1989 as vice president of marketing and was named vice president of risk management and energy trading in March 1995.

Before joining NGC he worked for Seagull Energy Corporation starting in 1986 as operations coordinator and after several promotions, he was named sales and marketing manager in 1988. Previously he was employed by Tooman & Associates, Inc. and Champlin Petroleum Company, both in Tulsa, Okla.

He received a bachelor of science degree in marketing in 1981 and a master of business administration degree in 1984 from Oklahoma State University.
