HOUSTON, April 17 -- TEPPCO Partners, L.P. (NYSE:TPP) today __ declared a first-quarter cash distribution of $0.85 per unit, payable May 8, 1998, to unitholders of record on April 30, 1998.

This quarterly distribution covers the period from January 1 through March 31, 1998.

TEPPCO Partners, L.P. is a publicly owned master limited partnership. TE Products Pipeline Company, Limited Partnership, the operating partnership, is one of the largest comnon carrier pipelines of refined petroleum products and liquefied petroleum gases in the United States.
