Cinergy Awards Clermont 20/20, Inc. $10,000 Grant

CINCINNATI, July 7, 2005 — The Cinergy Foundation recognized the Clermont 20/20, Inc.: A Vision for Leadership with its first Collaborative Grant of $10,000. The Collaborative Grant is given to a community, non-profit organization that best exemplifies the ability to build collaborative partnerships that address issues or needs in the community.

“It is critical that non-profits, like business, seek ways to maximize the resources available in their communities,” said J. Joseph Hale, Cinergy Foundation president. “Clermont 20/20 has been an outstanding model for building collaborative partnerships in the area for many years.”

In the summer of 2004, Clermont 20/20 brought together 125 residents and business volunteers and organized the first Felicity Facelift project. During the project, the exterior of four homes of older residents were completely cleaned, refurbished with new paint and a new front porch was added to one residence. This event dramatically improved the physical appearance of the Village, as well as fostered cooperation among the various community groups. A second Felicity Facelift project is planned for this month.

“We believe local collaborative effort is essential to community improvement,” said Cindy Jenkins, Clermont 20/20 executive director. “Working with partners from many different sectors of the community has allowed us to pursue our mission and achieve success.”
