Cinergy Again Recognized As Nation's Top Utility For Economic Development

CINCINNATI, September 20, 2005 — For the seventh consecutive year, Site Selection magazine, a national publication serving the economic development industry, has selected Cinergy as one of the top 10 utilities in economic development. Site Selection’s September 2005 issue recognizes Cinergy for the role it played in helping to generate $954 million in capital investment and more than 5,231 new jobs in Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky last year.

Cinergy is the parent company of PSI Energy, The Cincinnati Gas & Electric Company, and Union Light, Heat & Power, serving approximately 1.5 million electric customers and 500,000 gas customers. Its economic development staff offers services such as site and building databases, international and national trade missions, community grants to promote economic development, and support for local economic development groups.

Site Selection magazine surveys utilities annually to determine the number of jobs and size of capital investment the companies helped generate and the programs they offered to attract new business and help existing industry expand.
