Awarded $1,500 to fund a pilot study involving the evaluation of two types of deep-water fish attractors to concentrate fish in Lake James. 

Lake Norman Wildlife Conservationists (Eric Peterson), Mooresville, NC
Awarded $1,000 to build, erect, and maintain nesting boxes for a variety of cavity-nesting birds within the Reeds Creek Wetland Mitigation Project (Lake Norman).

NC Wildlife Federation (Tim Gestwicki), Charlotte, NC
Awarded $12,100 for the construction and erection of Osprey nesting platforms in suitable locations in Lake Norman and Lake Wylie.

Awarded $15,000 to support their Island Habitat Program that involves an array of civic groups, businesses, and wildlife enthusiasts who protect, restore, and enhance fish and wildlife habitat on islands in Lake Norman, Mt. Island Lake, and Lake Wylie by constructing and erecting various types of wildlife nesting boxes and planting native aquatic vegetation.

NC Wildlife Habitat Foundation (Eddie Bridges), Greensboro, NC
Tentatively awarded $100,000 to support the design and construction of a 10-20 acre waterfowl impoundment on the John’s Rive Game Lands (Burke County).  Funds are contingent on site evaluations and budget considerations. 

NC Wildlife Resources Commission (Mallory Martin), Marion, NC
Awarded $10,000 for the purchase of porcupine fish attractors that will be installed in selected Catawba River reservoirs to enhance angling success.
