Last Update: 8/11/2014 11:07:36 AM
To facilitate maintenance work at Tennessee Creek Hydro Station this fall and winter, Duke Energy will gradually lower Lakes Tanassee Creek and Wolf Creek to 50 feet below full pond by early November. As currently planned, the lake levels will fall below the Normal Minimum Elevation at the close of the recreational season, just after Labor Day. The current plan calls for both lakes to refill to the Normal Minimum Target level by early March 2015, but the refill rate is weather- and work schedule-dependent. The Powerhouse Access Area boat ramps owned by Duke Energy and operated by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission will close in mid-September and reopen when the lakes have refilled.

Please stay alert to changing weather conditions. Updated lake levels are available any time at http://www.duke-energy.com/lakes/levels.asp and at 800-829-5253. We will continue to closely monitor conditions and will provide updates as forecasts and conditions change.
