Accelerated Main Replacement Program (AMRP)
Duke Energy is committed to providing safe and reliable service to our gas and electric customers. You may notice more construction crews working on natural gas lines in many areas throughout our service territory. This is the result of the gas Accelerated Main Replacement Program approved in 2001 by the Public Service Commission of Kentucky.
The gas main replacement program will improve the reliability and safety of the natural gas distribution system and help keep future operation and maintenance costs at the lowest reasonable level.
The goal of the program is to replace all 12-inch and smaller cast iron and bare steel gas mains over the next 10 years. Approximately 111 miles of older pipelines will be replaced throughout our Kentucky service territory. Our target is to replace 18 miles per year.
We will update the street listings to keep you informed of the project status and anticipated construction areas. Street changes made after the publication of the mapping software may not be reflected on some maps.
