Financial Plan

What is Duke Energy’s dividend policy?

Duke Energy’s current dividend expectation is to grow the dividend at a slower rate than growth in adjusted-diluted EPS. Any dividend increases are subject to approval by Duke Energy’s Board of Directors. Over time, we expect the dividend payout ratio to trend downward (based upon adjusted-diluted EPS) and are targeting a dividend payout ratio of 65%-70%. We expect to achieve the targeted payout ratio in 2014, giving us more flexibility to grow the dividend at a pace more consistent with earnings growth.

What is Duke Energy’s long-term growth assumption?

Duke Energy’s long-term growth expectation is to grow adjusted-diluted earnings per share 4-6% off of the original midpoint of 2013’s adjusted EPS guidance range of $4.20 to $4.45 per share.

What is Duke Energy’s 2014 adjusted-diluted earnings per share (EPS) guidance range?

On February 18, 2014, Duke Energy established its 2014 adjusted diluted EPS guidance range of $4.45 to $4.60 per share.
