Variable Frequency Drive Incentives

The Duke Energy Smart $aver Prescriptive program is scheduled to expire on Dec. 31, 2014. Duke Energy is currently waiting on approval to continue the program for 2015. In order to guarantee payment of incentives for projects completed in 2014, equipment must be installed by Dec. 31, 2014, and applications must be received by Duke Energy within 90 days of installation.

A variable frequency drive (VFD) is one of the most effective ways for businesses to reduce energy consumption. And, with Duke Energy's VFD incentives, the return on investment is even more appealing. By adding our VFD incentives to your equipment arsenal, you will make your proposals more attractive, ultimately resulting in a win-win for you and your customers.

To take advantage of incentives for variable frequency drives under the Smart $aver program you must apply using the Custom Incentive program. Only drives exceeding 50 horsepower are eligible. Variable Frequency Drives under 50 HP may qualify through the Energizing Indiana Prescriptive Incentive program.
