General Questions

Who completes the repair or replacement when I need service?

All services are performed by Duke Energy authorized service technicians. Each technician is licensed and certified.

Does Duke Energy provide any warranty for the completed work?

Yes. Repairs performed for covered services are warranted by Duke Energy for one year from the date of repair.

How long does it take a technician to arrive once I call Duke Energy for a repair?

If your repair is an emergency, we will arrange for a technician to arrive within four hours of your initial call. For non-emergencies, service will be scheduled for within 24 hours of your call.

How long does a plan contract last?

Each plan is month-to-month, so you can cancel at any time.

Is there a grace period after I enroll?

Coverage begins 28 days after you enroll.

How will I be billed for my plan(s)?

The fees for your plan(s) will appear on your monthly Duke Energy bill.

What happens if a repair is beyond the coverage offered by Duke Energy?

Repairs or replacements not covered under the plan(s) can be performed by the service technician at your cost. The technician can provide you with an estimate of the repair and/or replacement costs. You will receive a 15 percent discount from the techniciansí applicable labor rates for any repairs not covered under the plan(s). See our Terms and Conditions for complete details.

Water Heater Repair/Replacement Plan

What is covered under the water heater plan?

The water heater repair/replacement plan covers problems with your standard electric or gas water heater due to normal wear and tear. Your water heater must be in good working order and free of leaks prior to enrolling. See our Terms and Conditions for complete details.

What types of water heaters does the plan cover?

The plan covers most standard 30- to 66-gallon electric and 40- to 66-gallon gas home water heaters. See our Terms and Conditions for complete details.

I have more than one water heater in my home. Will you cover both?

Yes. You can choose to cover multiple water heaters for $4.95 per month per unit.

Is there a maximum amount that Duke Energy covers for water heaters?

We provide maximum coverage of $850 per year, starting from your enrollment date.

Home Wiring Repair Plan

What is covered under the home wiring plan?

The home wiring repair plan covers problems with the electrical components of your home wiring circuits due to normal wear and tear. The wiring circuits must be in good working order prior to enrolling. See our Terms and Conditions for complete details.

We provide maximum coverage of $1,000 per year, starting from your enrollment date.

Water Line Repair Option

What is covered under the water line option?
