Duke Energy Named to North American Sustainability Index

For the second year, Duke Energy has been named one of North America’s leading companies in a measurement of financial, environmental and social performance. The company retains its position on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for North America (DJSI NA), which evaluates companies for their long-term, responsible approach to business. DJSI NA contains 120 companies selected from the largest 600 North American corporations. The annual DJSI review is based on qualities such as corporate governance, risk management, climate change policy, supply chain standards and employment practices. Half the assessment measures broad sustainability criteria, with the remaining half related to industry-specific sustainability issues. The Dow Jones indexes are used by about 60 asset managers around the world as objective benchmarks for building financial portfolios based on sustainability measures.
