Duke Energy Ohio

Duke Energy Ohio, Inc. has issued a Request for Proposals seeking bids for power generated from renewable energy resources to begin delivering energy in the 2009-2012 timeframe. Renewable energy resources include solar, wind, hydroelectric, biomass, and others. Potential bidders can access the proposal via the links below. Bids are due by August 15, 2008.

RFP Initial Selection of Short List - schedule shift

Duke Energy Ohio would like to extend our appreciation for the time and effort that responders devoted in responding to this RFP. Coupled with the bid proposal response, the quality of bid proposals received is to be applauded. Duke Energy Ohio is committed in complying with the renewable energy standards as defined in Ohio Senate Bill 221. Duke Energy Ohio appreciates the role that you may play in assisting us in meeting this worthy goal.

We wish to announce a slight adjustment to the schedule. The Initial Short List notification will now be communicated to affected bidders on October 3, 2008. Bidders should receive an email by this date notifying them of thier bid proposal status.

E-Form Requirements for DEO Renewable Energy RFP Bid Proposal

Per Section 2.5.4 in the DEI Renewable Energy RFP, in addition to the 3 bound sets of documents, including exhibits; we are also requiring that the bid proposal exhibits be presented via CD or jump drive. The CD or jump drive must be included in the package that is received by Burns & McDonnell by August 15, 2008. We have posted a link to an “example form” as well as a “shell form.” Please note that instructions for the E-form are noted in the first tab, Response Package Instruction, of the workbook.

Duke Energy Ohio – Updates

Revisions have been made to the RFP. The link to the RFP provided above contains the following revisions/clarifications:

  • Section 2.5.2 in RFP - Bid proposal due date modified.
  • Section 2.2.6 in RFP - Required energy "Delivery Point" clarified.
  • Section 4.1.1.2.1 in the RFP - When applicable, escalation rates stated as "fixed-price" escalation rate for the proposed contract term.
  • Exhibit D - Net Capacity modified to read, Nameplate Capacity (AC)
