Energy Efficiency

We think of energy efficiency as the “fifth fuel,” joining coal, natural gas, nuclear and renewables as a critical resource needed to serve the growing energy needs of the communities we serve. Duke Energy is committed to working with our state regulators in developing energy efficiency programs that both save our customers money and improve our environment. And we are leading the national effort, joining in a collaborative with the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, state regulators and other utilities to produce the National Action Plan for Energy Efficiency.
