NC Customer Generation Rate Options

There are several ways to physically configure your renewable energy system in North Carolina. These configurations are available for solar photovoltaic, wind, micro-hydroelectric, and other renewable sources of generation. Duke Energy Carolinas offers two “net metering” options and two sell-all options. Choose the configuration that best suits your project.

A parallel generation schedule is also available for larger cogeneration and small power production facilities that provides supplemental and standby services, plus the opportunity to sell excess generation to the grid.

Duke Energy Carolinas Standard Purchase Offer for Renewable Energy Certificates ("RECs")

Duke Energy Carolinas has established a standard purchase offer for Renewable Energy Certificates ("RECs") to assist the Company with meeting its North Carolina Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Portfolio Standard (“NC REPS”) requirements. The following link provides information about the offer.

Projects that are not eligible for Duke Energy Carolina’s standard purchased power rates or standard purchase offer for RECs are invited to submit a renewable energy proposal to the Company. We accept “unsolicited” proposals for renewable energy and/or RECs.
