Logo Usage Rules
The Duke Energy logo is the flagship of the company’s brand and forms the foundation of the brand identity program. You maintain the integrity of the logo and the brand by consistently following these guidelines:
- Buffer the logo from other type and graphics by a clear zone equal to 1/2 the height of the logo.
- Accompany the logo with the registered symbol (R) on all media uses.
- Use the upper left corner of the Big Red "D" to align text above and below the logo.
- Do not use the Big Red D separate from the words “Duke Energy.”
- Do not combine the Duke Energy name and logo with another graphic, logo or symbol.
- Do not fill the “swoosh” with a color. The swoosh is transparent and allows the background behind the logo to show.
- Do not use the “swoosh” or shape of the Big Red D as a graphic.
- Do not use logos for more than one business unit on the same document, presentation or promotional item.
- Do not use the logo as part of a headline or title.
What Not to Do
1. Do not modify or redraw the logo. For example:
Do not print the logo in all red.
Do not switch the black and red.
Do not substitute another color for Duke Energy Red.
Do not create an outline of the Big Red D.
Do not change the proportions of the logo. (Holding down the shift & alt keys while dragging a corner in Word and PowerPoint will keep the logo at the correct proportions)
2. Do not use the logo over a distracting image or pattern.
3. Do not use the logo as part of a headline or title.
