Scholarship Programs Investing in Our Future
Duke Energy Scholars: Investing in Our Future
The Duke Energy Scholars program awards 15 college scholarships of up to $5,000 each per year to dependents of our employees and retirees. The scholarships are merit-based, with consideration given to academics, personal references, community service and demonstrated financial need. These may be awarded for up to four consecutive years, with a maximum award of $20,000.
In addition to the 15 annual winners of the four-year scholarships, we select five alternates to receive one-time, $1,000 scholarships. If any of the 15 winners declines their scholarship prior to the acceptance deadline, alternates become eligible to receive a four-year scholarship.
Duke Energy Scholars recipients may use their scholarships for undergraduate study at accredited four-year colleges or universities – and/or two-year technical schools or community colleges – in the U.S. and Canada.
