Project Highlights

• The Martins Creek Solar Farm is located in Murphy, North Carolina
• The facility generates one megawatt of electricity, enough to power approximately 150 homes
• The solar farm supplies electricity to the Tennessee Valley Authority through Blue Ridge Mountain EMC under the terms of a 10-year power purchase agreement
• There are a total of 4,400 ground-mounted photovoltaic (PV) panels at the site, which is located on the grounds of an elementary school
• The structure of the power purchase agreement enables the elementary school to share in revenue created by electric generation at the site, which equates to the cost of staffing two full-time teachers at the school
