Diversity Council

Purpose

The Diversity Council partners with the work force diversity team to establish a corporate diversity and inclusion strategy throughout the enterprise. The council is accountable to the sponsors, the Chief Development Officer (CDO) and the Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Accountabilities

  • Review, support and guide the development of strategies and operational plans for enterprise workforce diversity.
  • Review and analyze enterprise measures and emerging workforce trends.
  • Evaluate the implementation of plan initiatives.
  • Serve as advocates and role models for diversity and inclusion.
  • Provide a forum for continuous education on matters related to diversity and inclusion.
  • Provide an annual report to the sponsors.
  • Others, as agreed upon by the Council.
2005 Focus Areas and Initiatives
Creating a Diverse & Inclusive Culture Leadership & Skill Development
Capture and share best practices. Conduct 2005 "Leading a High-Performance Organization" sessions.
Develop policies and guidelines for employee resource groups. Continue build-out and implementation of Leadership Development Model.
Retention Cross Development
Define retention strategies by employee segments. Develop and implement career rotation programs.
Improve overall retention rate of new hires through more effective engagement. Establish joint recruiting and development programs for new recruits.
Determine characteristics of management quality that drive retention and engagement. Establish functional talent discussions in engineering and information technology.
Develop and implement training aids to help leaders communicate career paths and assist with development plans.
