New Natural Gas Generation

Adding new natural gas generation is part of Duke Energy's strategy to maintain a diverse fuel portfolio and to ensure an affordable, reliable and cleaner energy supply for our customers in the future. Combined-cycle plants' operational flexibility is key in supporting intermediate electricity demand, and their systematic use of heat released from the natural gas combustion allows them to achieve high thermal efficiency with significantly reduced emissions.
