Brooksville West to Tangerine
Duke Energy is planning to build a new transmission line in Brooksville to ensure a reliable supply of electricity to homes, schools and businesses in the area.
Duke Energy is planning to upgrade five miles of existing transmission from the Brooksville West Substation at Cortez Boulevard west to the Suncoast Parkway, and then to the Tangerine Substation on Mason Smith Road west of Broad Street.
The 115-kilovolt double circuit line will be built on single concrete or steel poles, within existing easements.
Construction on the project began in winter 2011 and is expected to be completed in 2012.
