Commercial Power
Duke Energy’s U.S. Commercial Power assets, excluding wind and solar energy generation assets, are composed of approximately 6,800 net megawatts (MW) of wholesale electric generation. Our plants are primarily focused on the Midwest in the PJM Interconnection regional transmission organization. Commercial Power also has a retail sales subsidiary, Duke Energy Retail, which serves retail electric customers in southwest, west central and northern Ohio with energy and other energy services at competitive rates.
Duke Energy Renewables is a leader in developing innovative renewable energy solutions, including wind and solar projects in the U.S. The company’s commercial wind and solar farms help utilities, electric cooperatives and municipalities deliver affordable, reliable and clean energy to its customers. Virtually all of the electricity produced by Duke Energy Renewables’ wind and solar projects is sold through long-term agreements to power purchasers.
