AOL 9 Recommended Settings

AOL 9 provides enhanced security features that may be blocking some features on our Web site. The most common solution is to set up Duke Energy as a trusted site.

To designate trusted sites:

  1. On the AOL toolbar, click Settings.
  2. In the Settings window, click the Index tab, and then click Internet (Web) Options from the alphabetical listing of settings.
  3. In the AOL Browser Settings window, click Internet Explorer settings.
  4. Click the Security tab, select Trusted Sites and then click the Sites button.
  5. Enter the following addresses, clicking the Add button after each:
    • https://www.duke-energy.com
    • https://www2.duke-energy.com
    • https://www.dukepower.com
    • https://www.cinergyregulatedbiz.com
  6. Make sure to uncheck Require server verification.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click OK.

Retest: After updating your settings, test your browser again.
